    Billy Allen Layne, 83, of Victoria, VA joined his family in Heaven on Feb. 26, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Atkins Layne; his parents, Spencer Hatcher Layne and Marion Allen Layne; his brothers, Spencer Layne, Jr., Alvan Layne, Elbert Layne, Oliver Layne, Carol Layne, Edward Layne, Floyd Layne, Monroe Layne, and Nelson Layne; his sisters, Virginia Frangowlakis, Ruth Ferguson and Florence Pierce. He is survived by brothers, Fred C. Layne (Georgia) of Farmville, VA and Norman P. Layne (Ida) of Cullen, VA and sisters, Roberta L. Willis (Charlie) of St. Paul, VA and Gloria L. Adams (Kendall) of Cullen, VA; sisters-in-law, Annette Layne of Rice, VA, Linda Layne of Rustburg, VA and Agnes Layne of Gibsonia, PA, step-children, Linda Willis (Jay) of Victoria, Wade Harding of Meherrin and Carol Mize (Richard) of Dallas, GA; five step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren. Billy was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church in Cullen, VA. He retired from BP Short Paving as a truck driver. He enjoyed dancing, being outside and keeping a nice yard. Graveside funeral services will be held 2PM Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Rice, VA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Victoria Fire and Rescue, P.O.Box 1419, Victoria, VA or to CentraPace, 1530 S. Main Street, Farmville, VA 23901.
