Heaven is a better place because of accepting Rosa through the gates. Rosa was like my second Mother when I was growing up and since I left Kenbridge always enjoyed our phone calls and visits. I couldn't have made it without the help of Rosa and Jerrie helping Mom so much before she came to Richmond. I always looked forward to their visits to see Mom. Always happy times!! All the family is feeling a sorrow in our hearts but also a blessed feeling for having Rosa in our lives!!! Carl, Yvonne and Robbie will have you in my prayers and thoughts. You were so lucky to have Rosa for your mother.

Our sympathy to the family in the loss of sweet, sweet Rosa. I have such fond memories of my daddy taking Hilda and me to Elliott's store as children. We loved getting the "penny" candy and Wilson or Rosa putting it in the tiny little brown bags. What a treat! May you find comfort in knowing that Rosa is now with our Heavenly Father and as promised by His word at Peace. Keeping you in our prayers. God Bless.

It's been a few days, yet I find myself talking to you often. I'm praying you are happily with all your heavenly family. To say I'm going to miss you barely touches on the loss I feel. But I know you were ready to be with Jesus and to behold all that awaits in Heaven with God. Yvonne says you promised to wait by the gates for a hundred years until we all arrived. I'll see you there. Give my Dad a big hug and let everyone know they are thought of often, and always missed. Love you always Aunt Rosa, Jennifer

    ELLIOTT,

Rosa Clarke Elliott, 91, of Kenbridge, Va. joined her family in Heaven on May 14, 2018. She was the widow of Carl Wilson Elliott; and the daughter of the late Flavious Fitzhugh Clarke and Bessie Robertson Clarke; sister of the late Aubrey F. Clarke, Lynwood C. Clarke, Ruth Smith, Bertha Clarke Hudson and Louise Hurt. She is survived by her children, Carl Elliott (Carolyn) of Kenbridge, Robert Elliott (Roxanne) of Greenville, SC and Yvonne Moore (Ronnie) of Kenbridge; her grandchildren, Wanda Anthony, Bryan Elliott (Tracy), Crystal Elliott (Jason) Morgan Bonke (James), Caroline Moore and Rachel Moore; great-grandchildren, Kayla and Benjamin Anthony, Tristan, Logan, Rylan and Bryleigh Elliott; her sister Mary Skinner and brother James T. Clarke. Rosa owned and operated Elliott’s Store for over 42 years. When we think of her we will always remember her beautiful smile and her unforgettable personality. She never met a stranger and was loved by everyone she met. Those who were fortunate to know her will best remember her kindness, warmth and humor. Each day will always be a memory; there will be many tears of sadness and some of joy. Even though her life here on earth has ended, we will continue to keep her in our hearts forever. Rosa was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Kenbridge, where funeral services will be held Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 11AM. Interment in the Kenbridge Heights Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge on Wednesday May 16, from 6 to 8PM.
