Our thoughts and prayers of sympathy to Johnny, Perry, Debra and Linda Sue and their families in the loss of their Mama. What a wonderful, sweet and kind Christian lady she was; plus a Cracker Jack Sunday School teacher who knew the Bible and lived its teachings throughout her life! Most sincerely, Nancy & Everett

Elsie Rose (Clary) Chambliss, (90), formerly of Victoria, VA, joined some of her friends and family as she moved into her Heavenly Home on April 15, 2022.

Elsie was born on October 8, 1931 to Richard Benjamin Clary and Ocie Bertha Ethel (Baird) Clary near Gasburg in Brunswick County, Virginia.  She graduated from Lawrenceville High School.

Elsie did clerical work at Mason’s TV and Appliance and retired from the Treasurer’s Office of the Town of Kenbridge, VA.  Elsie was a member of and taught Sunday School at Kenbridge Christian Church.

Elsie was married to the love of her life Mason Chambliss for over seventy years and they created a home for and raised their four children teaching them to love and respect family values.

In addition to her husband and parents, Elsie was predeceased by brothers Jasper Wayne Clary and Richard Elmo Clary and sister Nancy Lee (Clary) Carpenter.  Left to cherish her memory are brother Woody Marshall Clary of Roanoke Rapids, NC; sisters Martha Ann (Clary, Brewer) Haithcock of Gasburg, Va and Betty Gayle (Clary) Jones of Gasburg, Va; 4 Children - John (Judy) Chambliss of Roanoke, Perry (Judy) Chambliss of Cumberland, Debra (George) Daniels of Midlothian, Linda Chambliss of Aylett, VA;    7 Grandchildren Michelle (Chris) Allen; John M “Trey” (Melissa) Chambliss III, Mark (Angelina) Chambliss, Rick (Stella) Chambliss, Cameron Chambliss, Jeffrey (Kelly) Daniels, and Carrie (Thomas) Mick; and 14 Great Grandchildren Abby Allen, Emily Allen, Noah Chambliss, Savannah Chambliss, Bryce Chambliss, Hannah Lenz-Phillips, Savannah Skeens, Mason Chambliss, Marshall Chambliss, Emmitt Chambliss, Carson Daniels, Coleman Daniels, Colin Daniels and Levi Mick.

The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Lucy Corr in Chesterfield County for the love, comfort and care that they provided to Mom and Dad for the past few years.  During the pandemic, they kept them safe and secure and allowed us to maintain communications with them even when we could not visit in person.    These workers were angels of mercy during difficult times.

A graveside service for Elsie will be held at Crestview Memorial Park, 18599 Highway One, LaCrosse, VA at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 with pastor Cameron Bailey officiating.  Visitation will be at the cemetery from 10AM until start of services.  Funeral arrangements are being handled by Clarke Funeral Home, Kenbridge, VA.
