R.I.P. My dear friend. I shall miss our "chats" during the day and the quilting lessons you were sweet enough to give me. We shall miss you and you will be forever in our hearts. So glad you have been reunited with your dear, sweet Charlie who you always spoke of in such a loving manner.

Evelyn was a dear friend to my Mother and I. She made such lovely quilts. Each year with the Relay For Life she gave us a quilt to raise funds. My sympathy goes to each of her family member.

Estes family, I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved mother. I have wonderful childhood memories of Evelyn. I can still remember Mama bringing all of us to your house and it seems Evelyn always had a cake or pie in the kitchen! Evelyn was such a wonderful friend to our mother. Evelyn Hudson Estes, 94, of Kenbridge, Va. joined her husband Charlie at a party in Heaven on May 6, 2017. She was the daughter of the late, Thomas Jackson Hudson and Nannie Smith Hudson; sister of the late, Olive Creedle, Emma Estes, Paschall Hudson, Wilton Hudson and Raymond Hudson. She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law Charlotte and David Gravitt, Nancy Berry (Nelson Ragan), and Brenda and Wilson Perry of Bumpass, Va.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Everett and Frances Estes, and Bobby Estes; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one sister, Myrtle Manning (John), South Hill, Va. Evelyn was a member of the Kenbridge United Methodist Church. She loved to quilt and made numerous quilts for Relay for Life and for her family. The family will receive friends at the Clarke Funeral Home, Kenbridge, Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 12:30 until start of services at 2pm. Interment to follow in the Kenbridge Heights Cemetery.
