So sorry for your loss Silverman family! Seems to be too much too close together. I can remember Janelle singing in her living room when we were teenagers and I remember my dad servicing her Honda when she drove back & forth to Richmond. I will be praying for you all! 😘

Cheri, I just wanted to say how sympathetic i am for your loss. The loss of a loved one is hard enough, but the loss of a mother/friend is a union that can not be replaced. My heart and prayers are and have been with you and your family since learning of this. May the God of peace and everlasting love overshadow you and your family during this difficult transition

    SILVERMAN,
Genevia Roop Silverman, 83, of Dundas, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020, with her husband by her side.  Genevia (Geno) was born on March 4, 1936, to Archie Cabel Roop and Minnie Blanche Stultz Roop in Crewe, Virginia.  After graduating from Crewe High School, she met and fell in love with her husband of 65 years, Sidney “Ronnie” Ronald Silverman, SR, of Kenbridge, Virginia. Genevia’s main focus in life was her husband and family. She was always there for them, and tried to guide and protect them through life’s many challenges. Those that knew her described her as strong, giving, tough, dedicated, and spirited. The philosophies she lived by were: “Everything happens for a reason” and “Que Sera Sera” -- Whatever will be will be. Her  career was vast with many positions as she moved in excess of 20 times around the world while supporting her husband’s service in the United States Army. Upon his retirement, she began working for the Virginia Army National Guard, and retired as an Assistant Inspector General, after 32 years of dedicated service. She served and received commendation letters from the Adjutant General, and the Office of the Inspector General and Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, at the Headquarters, Virginia National Guard in Richmond and Ft. Pickett, Virginia. Genevia enjoyed gardening, painting/crafting, and could do anything she set her mind to do. She spent time clowning to support the Kenbridge Emergency Squad at their annual fundraiser - Jackass Derby.  She is survived by her husband and four children: Essie Silvers (Curt), Sidney Ronald Silverman, Jr. (Mila), Cheri Silverman, Rhonda Silverman Fulk, four-grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday, February 15, 2020, from 1-3 p.m. at the Clarke Funeral Home, 110 E. 5th Avenue, Kenbridge, Virginia.
