John Robert “Johnny” Morris, 80, of Crewe, VA joined his family in Heaven on January 12, 2023. He was the son of the late Duard Lee Morris and Lucille Davis Morris and brother of the late Hugh Morris and Lee Morris. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Helen Jibben Morris; his daughters, Kathy Wood of Amelia, and Nancy Palmer of Richmond; his sons, Kenneth Bates (Sue Wright) of Amelia and Charles Bates of Crewe. He was “Papa” to Johnathan Beyer, Anna Sturrup, Heather Falls, Ben Wood, Casey Bates, Tim Bates, Chelsey Bates, Nicholas Bates and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother, Willard Morris (Linda) of South Hill.  Johnny was a retired loader operator for Luckstone in Burkeville. He enjoyed fishing, the beach, the mountains and watching Nascar and small track racing. The family will receive friends Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023 from 4 to 6 PM at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge where funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 16, 2023 at 2PM.
