Though I was not a math student of hers, Ms Featherstun was a great lady and wonderful teacher, highly respected by staff and students alike. Rest in peace, Pat.

I was saddened to learn of Pat's passing. She always welcomed me when I visited Calvary Christian Church from Colorado. She was extremely kind to my grandmother, a charter member of that church. She will be missed by many.

I always looked forward to seeing Pat every third Thursday at the hostess desk at Piedmont Arts. Her friendliness and knowledge of the organization made such a difference, and I so enjoyed working with her on literary projects. She loved the arts, was wonderfully smart, we read the same books, and she had a great sense of humor. I will treasure the long discussions we had over the years.

I met Pat on Thanksgiving Day several years ago. My son and I were invited to dinner with Betty and her family. It was a wonderful day and Pat left me with many fond memories. Rest in peace, Pat, with the angels and your family.

I have many wonderful memories of Patsy at Perseverance Christian Church. One was the fun we had with a young girls quartet consisting of Patsy, Joan Taylor, Ann Sadler and Pat Owen (maiden names) and me at the keyboard. Precious years and she continued to be a good witness for the Lord. Love to all the family, comfort and peace!

My son, LT. Colonel Jason Mitchell just called me from Italy and asked if had I heard about Pat's death. Jason told me that Pat was one of his favorite teachers and spent extra hours tutoring him in Math while he was a student at Martinsville High School. Even after all these years, he still remembers her as a dedicated and caring teacher.

Mac Moore is saddened to hear of Patsy's passing. He wanted me to pass this message along, "I will always fondly remember all of the occasions playing together at Papu's home on Sunday afternoon."

During his ministry, Jesus showed that he really understood people and had empathy for them. When his close friend Lazarus died, Jesus felt the intense pain that Mary and Martha experienced. His empathy for them was so strong that he began to cry, even though he knew that he was going to resurrect Lazarus. John 11:33-36. So we can be sure that Jesus is still affected when others are in pain. He understands their grief, and he is able to give them comfort "at the right time.

Miss Featherstun was one of my very favorite teachers. She was the best math teacher ever! She was so kind and personified Christian character. She was the faculty sponsor of the girls' Christian club (Tri-Hi-Y) after school for my entire four years of high school--the perfect choice for our sponsor!
