Just learned of Nat's passing. We live on through our families and the memoirs of the lives we touch. I have nothing but good memoirs of the time we shared working together. My Dad always held Nat in high regard. He will be missed. Howard Davis, Jr

Gloria I am so sorry for you loss. Nat and I were is the same classes at Kenbridge Elementary School. I have fond memories of riding my bike out to the Matthew farm and play with Nat and Jimmy and working in tobacco with them. My father in law Howard Davis thought the world of Nat and I enjoyed catching up with Nat when I visited a job site. He was a quite gentle person who will be missed. Prayers for yoy and the family.

Nathaniel Haynie “Nat” Matthews, Sr., 68, of Kenbridge, VA joined his Father, Haynie Almond Matthews, in Heaven on April 28, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Gloria Arthur Matthews, his devoted son, Haynie Matthews; his devoted daughter, Sallie Rogers (Robby); his grandchildren, Cierra, Cameron, Nathan, Georgie, BJ and Riley; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Onyx; his mother Virginia Peebles Matthews and his brother, Jimmy Matthews. Nat started working with Howard Davis construction when he was sixteen and later joined Kenbridge Construction Company where he retired as a superintendent. He enjoyed farming and going to the grandchildren’s ballgames. He dearly loved his family and did his best to help anyone who needed it. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 6:30 to 8PM at the Clarke Funeral Home in Kenbridge. Graveside funeral services will be held 2PM Sunday, May 1, 2022 at the Kenbridge Heights Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial donations to Lunenburg County Ministries P.O.
